About this event
Unlock the power of effective science communication with our intensive, five-module mini-course, designed for research faculty and scholars at all career stages, including postdocs, students and research associates. In today鈥檚 world, where public trust in science and competition for funding are under intense scrutiny, conveying the value of your research to diverse audiences is essential. The mini-course will be presented in four sessions over the 2025-2026 academic year: Clarifying Your Message to distill complex ideas into clear takeaways; Know Your Audience (Nov. 12) to tailor your approach for stakeholders, policymakers and the public; Craft Your Story (Jan. 14) to create compelling narratives that resonate; and Sharpen Your Speaking Skills (Feb. 11) to deliver impactful presentations with confidence. While it is beneficial to attend all sessions, each is presented independently. A final in-person celebration will be held in March during which participants will reflect on their experiences and connect with others to build a supportive community for science communication. Those who participate in all course content will receive a certificate acknowledging completion of this professional development activity. |
